It is not uncommon to see caves when we go to some part of the provinces but what is uncommon is to see wild monkeys living in the caves.
Hindang Cave and Wild monkeys is located in Hindang, Leyte which is managed by the Local Government Unit. It is about 300 meters away from the highway of Hindang. This is a very good side trip when visiting the province of Leyte.
How to get there?
If you’re coming from Manila, flights are available daily to Tacloban. From there, you can easily go to Hindang by taking a bus or van bound for Hilongos and just tell the driver to drop you at the highway that shows the access road that leads to the park entrance. From the highway, you can either just walk about 300 meters or just hire a tricycle or motorcycle to get there.
There are daily schedules from Cebu to Leyte. You may visit shipping lines website to check the schedule. Travel time is about 5 hours and about 2 hours for lite ferries.
